Today my partner and I started to think about ideas for the Psychology Fair. We want it to deal with something most people don't really think about in their everyday life. There are a lot of options as it is but most of them are already taken.

We have decided to do an experiment about the brain. We would like to see how which side of the brain people use the most. Some people say they are Right brained since they are more creative. Then others say they are Left brained since they are more logical about situations.

We decided to do a simple test. For example, which way would you draw a, "Q," on your forehead? That can be one of the ways to show which side you use the most. The most simplest things can determine which side you use the most.

Today we are looking up articles of how the left and right brain work. We want to get to know more about the sides and what they do before we continue with the project. We are also setting up the road map for our essay.

We decided to see if the Left or Right hemisphere of your brain can affect your memory. We are going to do a little quiz first to see which side you think you are. After that we are going to randomly flash words at you and see how well you can remember them.

Today we are planning out our experiment and how it is going to go. We want it to work smoothly so there won't be any mistakes. We are also thinking of ways to set up our booth. We are going to have two laptops. We are finishing up our worksheet so they can help us organize our plans for the fair.

Today I worked on figuring out the materials that are needed for the Psychology Fair. Also tried to figure out even more information about the memory and what happens if you recall information out of its original order. Apparently it makes remembering things more difficult.

Today I worked on getting the survey taken care of. It is just a little one to see if you could be Left or Right Brained. After that I try to list all materials that are needed for the experiment. Tomorrow we will be setting up our booth so it can be ready for next week.

Today we brain stormed ideas for our poster. We want to make sure that it looks neat and organized with enough information about what we are trying to do. We just don't want to over crowd the board with to much information. We also want it to look very nice and well put together. No misspellings and have it be colorful.

Today we worked on our poster board. We tried to put enough information about both sides of the brain. We wanted to try and make it look colorful and grab someone attention when they walk by. We just don't want to over crowd the board with to much information.

Today we are working on the other half of the project. This part has to do only with memory. It is going to be one of those color memory games. After someone is done take the survey, they go to the color memory game and see if they really are Left or Right brained. If you remember more things than you can be left brained, if not then right brained. It could always be the other way around so we are going to put in account for the persons age, and gender.

Today we went over the plan for Psych Fair tonight and tomorrow. We are possibly going to change one thing really quick, nothing major. For the memory game part we are thinking just going out and buying the Simon Says game. It would make things a lot more easier for us, and we would be able to get through more people.
Could you be a little more expansive on what your experiment will look like. Perhaps a little more information on the idea.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Brain Games episode that talks about the letter Q on your forehead and the research behind it?
