I started the annotated bibliography and read multiple studies on my subject. The first half of the annotated bibliography is done and I have the research I need to get started. All that's left is two paragraphs that summarize the research and my plan for the project.
March 10th
I completed student handout 13, which is the longest one
March 11th
I completed student handouts 14 and 15

Parent night is tonight. Here is my poster board IMG_8334.JPG
Parent night was a success and there were no problems with the experiment.
Most of the results were what I expected. Most commented they liked the song (Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots) while some reported it was overplayed and they don't like hearing it anymore.

Today is Psychology fair. It's period two right now and so far a lot of people have come to try it. I was worried not enough people would come try it out but I had plenty of people come to my table.
It's period 6 right now and people are still reacting how I respected for the most part. The only problem is that some people rate their mood as a 10, which is not only not realistic but it leaves no
room for their mood to improve which messes with the results.

Today I started working on the final paper. This is the link to the google form results:
https://docs.google.com/a/d230.org/forms/d/1OyF9X-uUvrTk1n_OhRku0xZe9sH-qMTQQlBeCg4bHew/edit?usp=drive_web#responses
Also I made a folder for the photos I took at the fair:

One of the problems I came across was that people rated their mood really bad or really good because it was funny and they were with their friends. That messed with the results.
Please expand upon your experiment when you are able to. We would love to hear more about it.

ReplyDeleteThis is a really great idea. I definitely think it does but it'll be interesting to see the facts. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCurrently the information you have up about your experiment isn't really your own explanation, and sometimes it helps to learn about it in simpler terms from a student. Based off the article it sounds very interesting though.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be helpful if there was more detail about the experiment and exactly what the purpose of it is
ReplyDeleteNot a lot of info so I don't really know what the experiment is, but I'll definitely stop by. I believe music affects mood because a change in genre can actually uplift my mood if I'm feeling down.

ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see how your experiment is going to work to judge the effect of music!
ReplyDeleteThis experiment sounds interesting! Although there wasn't much feedback or explanation on this given experiment, I would say that certain music can make different individuals feel better in their own way. I wish you luck on your results
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew a little more about your experiment! I feel like music soothes the soul so I'll definitely stop by!

ReplyDeleteI feel like we all believe music has an impact on our mood and wonder if that's actually true or not. I'm just wondering if that is what your experiment is based on and what the experiment will do.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the procedures of your experiment?
ReplyDeleteMusic for sure has an interesting impact on people's emotions. Listening to a sad song provokes feelings of sadness while listening to a pumped up song provokes feelings of excitement. It can definitely impact the way a person is feeling at a certain time.

ReplyDeletedont need a study for this. Music already makes me feel better
ReplyDeleteDoes it matter what kind of music makes you feel better? Genres ? or is it all music? Some music is very dark it depends on what you consider music.
