Day 2, March 9: We are going to look at this article to get information about how accurate eye witness testimonies are. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/do-the-eyes-have-it/
We are also going to look at this website to get information on a specific eye witness testimony
http://agora.stanford.edu/sjls/Issue%20One/fisher&tversky.htm
We used both of those articles to find out information about eyewitness testimonies.
Day 3, March 10: Today we began to fill out student Handout 13, which is an assignment where we have to analyze the articles/experiments we are studying .
Day 4, March 11: We are finishing up Student Handout 13.

Day 4, March 11: We are finishing up Student Handout 13.
Day 5, March 14: We are currently finding a video to use for our eyewitness testimony, but haven't decided on a video. We finished Student Handouts 13, 14, 15 and started 16.
Day 6, March 15: We finished Student Handouts 16, 17, and 20. We are still finding a video to use :)
Day 7, March 16: We are working on Student Handouts 18 and 19.
Day 8, March 17: We finished Student Handouts 18 and 19. Check out our Rough Draft for our Proposal
Day 9, March 21: We started our poster board.
Day 10, March 22: We finished our poster board and we were rushing to get it done. I brought it home to finish it up.
Day 11, March 23: Last day of class before psych fair! Can't wait to try it tonight at parent night! Tomorrow is gonna be fun.
We just set up for parent night:)
PSYCH FAIR:
our candy is gone.
Monday after psych fair, March 28: The first period of psych fair was successful and we were very relentless when getting people to come to our booth. It was nice to have a 30 minute break during second hour. It helped us fix a few things and discuss how we thought the first period went. Then, the rush of 3-8 period came. We didn't really get a break other than the passing periods, which was fine. For the most part, one member of our group tried to always be in front of the booth trying to get participants. By the time 7th hour came, all three of us were exhausted and we were successful with reaching our goal of 400-500 participants.
This one is interesting.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWe just learned about Loftus and her discoveries regarding eyewitness testimony, so I'm excited to participate in this experiment!
ReplyDeleteWe're excited to have you! See you there.
DeleteI have always liked to know if I would be a reliable witness if something tragic ever did happen near me.
ReplyDeleteYou can try it out tomorrow!
DeleteThis is GREAT! I really love the idea! Can't wait to try it, good luck:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, see you there!
DeleteWatched cool clips about this in class!Cant wait to see it happen for real and hopefully try it myself!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently doing a project on Elizabeth Loftus's studies on the reliability of eye witness testimony so this is really interesting! I always wonder about the possibility of sending someone to jail based on incorrect witness memories.
ReplyDeleteNice interactive experiment on cognition. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI know in our class we watched a video kinda on this, it was interesting to see how bad the witnesses were. Im curious what the results well be when were those witnesses.
ReplyDeleteThis experiment sounds like a good idea. Excited to see how it works.
ReplyDeleteThis seems very interesting to me because I have always thought I would be a reliable witness. We watched a video about this in class and I am looking forward to see what kind of witness I would be.
ReplyDeleteThis seems like a really cool idea! I'm interested to see if I'd be reliable in this situation.
ReplyDeleteThis will finally tell me if my memory is really that bad or not
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool because it is kind of like that video we watched the one time. Also all the cop shows say that eye witness testimony is unreliable so i think it will be interesting to see what kind of results you come up with.
ReplyDeleteIn class we have learned about subjects similar to this experiment so it will be interesting to connect.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea, I can't wait to see people's responses and how well it matches up with the video.
ReplyDeleteWe watched a similar video in my class and it was interesting to see the different responses from each person. It is definitely an interesting topic.
ReplyDeleteIdea seems great. Should be a real test on people's memory and I can bet very few people would be completely accurate witnesses.
ReplyDeleteThe majority of the subjects will probably preform quite poorly. The human memory is very unreliable.
ReplyDeleteOoooo this is like that activity we participated in during psych where we were the witnesses.. I sucked
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what video you girlies are using! We will see how good people's memories are
ReplyDeleteI saw the video, so that's I knew no one was guilty. The human memory is very unreliable. It's crazy how your brain might even create false memories.
