- We are learning more about our topic and why the brain can be tricked into hearing things that don't really exist.
Day #4: March 11, 2016
- Submitted student handout #13 with finding experiments and answering questions.
- Submitted students handout #15 with independent and dependent variables. We have NO control group
- UP TO DATE

PSYCH FAIR DAY
Everything is going well and we are getting way more people than expeted
No complications
Our experiment is just getting boring repeating the same things
Changed the songs people like them better now
We are getting way more participants than expected.
We're tired
I think our name of our poster attracted more people
Candy worked made kids do our experiment
Kids were freaked out by our experiment thought it was super cool

Please expand more on your topics. Instead of a laundry list of what you have completed, tell us what you are up to. How are things going, frustrations, things you have found. Pictures, video's about your experiment.
ReplyDeleteIn psych we learned about the sound and how the brain can understand the sound more by reading or seeing the lyrics. We played a song backwards and I couldn't understand or catch anything until I read the lyrics then heard what the words literally are! sounds interesting, good luck!!
ReplyDeleteGreat creative name for your study! How did you pick your songs?
ReplyDeleteNot too sure what how the experiment will be conducted, but still excited to try it out!
ReplyDeleteI am interested in finding out if I am hearing things that aren't really there.
DeleteIf i were to guess, the reason behind this phenomenon may be due to our ancestors evolving to be acutely aware of potential dangers.Better to be safe than sorry as they say.
ReplyDeleteI'm not exactly sure how the experiment will play out, but the title alone is enough to get me interested!
ReplyDeleteNot really sure what this experiment entails, but it sounds interesting. Does every individual's perception of sound differ though? Would this affect the experiment?
ReplyDeletesounds interesting cant wait to try it
ReplyDeleteMy mind often tricks itself into thinking it heard something it did not. I'm curious if your experiment could help me understand what that is or what that means?
ReplyDeletei remember doing something like this in psych 1, it seemed like if you tell us what could be said in the audio then our mind actually tricks us into thinking that it was actually said
ReplyDeleteYeah, exactly what does the experiment mean, I'm intrigued because there are many times where people hear things that did not actually occur, like someone calling your name from down the hall
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure what this experiment is about.
ReplyDeleteInterested to see how you're doing the experiment and what songs you plan to use! I've heard of these experiments before, seems intriguing!
ReplyDeletelove the title
ReplyDeleteI'm confused about what the experiment is but the title is intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThe actual experiment is not very clear, but the concept seems interesting. I am curious about perception and music and sounds all working together in the brain.
ReplyDeleteit will be cool to see if you actually think you hear something or if you actually do!
ReplyDeleteI looked at the linked website, and the experiment seems interesting. It would be nice to hear about what causes this sound distortion to occur.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your experiment about?
ReplyDeleteI would try and expand more on your topic, instead of listing the completed tasks. Good luck girls!
ReplyDeleteI like the title, but I did not really understand the experiment.
ReplyDeleteThis was a really cool experiment. So, you would listen to the song normally and tell them the lyrics and then they would play the song backwards and you would have to tell them the lyrics. If not, they would tell you it. They would tell you the lyrics that you were suppose to hear.
